I’m Jhendell Tabliago, a Senior Digital Marketing Generalist and founder of The Sustainable Socials.
I’m also a wife, a mum of two, a former breadwinner, and someone who’s always had a creative side.
I grew up in a simple home watching my parents work hard for our family. When I started earning, I eventually became one of our breadwinners too, helping with groceries, bills, my siblings’ tuition, and whatever else needed taking care of.
For a long time, success meant being able to provide more.
Life has changed a lot since then. Marriage and motherhood have given me a different perspective on what I’m building and why.
I’m still ambitious and still have big dreams. I just know now that a good life can’t be measured by income alone.
And somewhere between building a career, a business, and now a family, I’ve become much more thoughtful about where I put my time, energy, and talents.
Long before it became my career, I loved writing. In college, I taught myself Photoshop and started doing creative work on the side.
My first real taste of marketing came as a marketing intern in a BPO community. Later, I became a Marketing Assistant in corporate, where I got to meet a lot of people, work on different projects, and learn what marketing actually looked like beyond the classroom.
I loved it.
There was something about bringing ideas together, understanding people, creating something from scratch, and seeing a project come to life that felt natural to me.
Then the pandemic happened and like a lot of people, I had to rethink what came next.
I started exploring freelance work with around ₱4,000 in my bank account and no laptop of my own. I borrowed ₱30,000 from my cousin to buy one and used what was left of my savings to get internet installed at home.
There were rejections, a lot of learning, and plenty of figuring things out as I went.
I wrote content. Did product research. Managed social media. Took on more clients. Learned new skills whenever the work asked for them.
Eventually, I left corporate and made freelancing my full-time career.
Then I got sick with tuberculosis.
That season forced me to rethink how I worked. I couldn’t keep doing everything myself, so I learned to delegate, manage people, and step into more of a strategic role.
By December 2021, I had my first six-figure month.
Over time, the work grew beyond social media. I found myself working across strategy, SEO, websites, email marketing, branding, content, AI, and marketing systems.
I’ve worked with different businesses, industries, and people along the way. I’ve spoken on stage, led projects, managed marketing, and had the chance to do work I couldn’t have imagined when I was starting out.
And I’m still learning.
That’s probably one of my favourite things about marketing. There’s always something new to understand, test, improve, or look at differently.
This has never felt like “just work” to me because I genuinely love what I do.
At some point, I started thinking more seriously about the kind of work I wanted to keep doing.
Working with a client in the solar industry opened my eyes to businesses that were trying to create a positive impact alongside making a profit.
That stayed with me.
It eventually became part of the thinking behind The Sustainable Socials and my decision to focus more of my work on purpose-driven businesses, sustainable and impact-led brands, charities, NGOs, and founders building something they genuinely care about.
Then my personal life changed too.
I got married. I became a mum. Six months after welcoming our first baby, we found out another little one was on the way.
Suddenly, all the things I’d spent years building had to fit into a much fuller life.
And I think that’s where a lot of what I believe today started becoming clearer.
I want to keep doing ambitious work. I want to keep growing and getting better at what I do. I want The Sustainable Socials to support businesses creating something worthwhile.
I also want to be present for my family and enjoy the life we’re building together.
I’m still figuring out what that looks like in every season.
But I know I want to build it well.
Now, I channel all that experience into Sustainable Socials. My mission is to help creative entrepreneurs build digital presences that don’t just look pretty, but function effortlessly.
I believe your online home should reflect your unique vibe and work tirelessly for you behind the scenes, so you can focus on what you actually love doing. Let’s create something timeless.
